Why This Girl’s Trip Through Egypt Is Unlike Anything You’ve Experienced Before

Egypt is not a destination you simply visit. It is one of the most historically significant places on earth, a country that shaped early civilization, influenced religion, architecture, and science, and continues to hold some of the most extraordinary landmarks ever built. For women who have always dreamed of seeing the pyramids, sailing the Nile, and walking through ancient temples, the difference between a good trip and a life-changing one comes down to how you experience it. This Egypt girls trip is designed to move beyond surface-level tourism and into something far more immersive, intentional, and connected with a group of like-minded women.

What We’ll See.

Cairo is where the experience begins, and there is no way to prepare yourself for seeing the Pyramids of Giza in person. Built over 4,500 years ago, these structures were designed as tombs for pharaohs and are the last remaining wonder of the ancient world. The scale is difficult to comprehend until you are standing beside them, realizing that these monuments were constructed with precision long before modern technology existed. Nearby, the Great Sphinx continues to guard the plateau, carved from a single block of limestone and still shrouded in mystery. Cairo itself adds another layer to the experience, blending ancient history with a modern, energetic city that introduces you to Egypt in a way that feels both grounded and alive.

We’ll hop on a sleeper train from Cairo and head further south to Aswan, where we will check into our home for the next few days: A Nile River Cruise. Aswan offers a quieter, more relaxed atmosphere while still connecting you to one of Egypt’s most impressive landmarks, Abu Simbel. Carved directly into the mountainside during the reign of Ramses II, these temples were built as a symbol of power and devotion. Four massive statues of Ramses II sit at the entrance, creating one of the most recognizable and awe-inspiring scenes in Egypt. What makes Abu Simbel even more remarkable is its precision. Twice a year, sunlight aligns perfectly with the inner chamber, illuminating statues deep within the temple, demonstrating an advanced understanding of astronomy and engineering that continues to impress historians today.

Sailing along the Nile River shifts the pace of the trip and adds an entirely different perspective. The Nile is not just a river; it is the foundation of Egyptian civilization, sustaining agriculture, trade, and daily life for thousands of years. Experiencing Egypt from the water allows you to move through the country the same way ancient Egyptians once did, passing temples, villages, and landscapes that reveal how interconnected everything truly is. It creates space to take in what you are seeing rather than rushing through it, offering a more grounded, immersive experience that balances the intensity of the historical sites.

As the trip continues to Luxor, often referred to as the world’s greatest open-air museum, the depth of Egypt’s history becomes even more apparent. Luxor was once the ancient city of Thebes, the capital during Egypt’s most powerful era, and is home to some of the world's most significant archaeological sites. The Valley of the Kings holds over 60 tombs carved into the desert, including the tomb of Tutankhamun, where intricate hieroglyphics and paintings were designed to guide pharaohs through the afterlife. Karnak Temple is one of the largest religious complexes ever built, developed over centuries and filled with towering columns and sacred spaces that once played a central role in Egyptian spiritual life. Luxor Temple offers a different perspective, showcasing refined architecture and ceremonial importance tied to the worship of Amun, one of Egypt’s most powerful deities. We’ll also get to experience a beautiful sunrise hot air balloon ride over Luxor.

To close out the journey, the trip shifts into a completely different energy along the Red Sea, where you have a couple of days to slow down, reset, and take in Egypt from a more relaxed, coastal perspective. It is a chance to balance the depth and intensity of the historical experience with space to unwind on the beach before returning to Cairo. This is also a renowned spot to scuba dive if we have any divers on the trip! From the Red Sea, we’ll drive back to Cairo to end the trip. We’ll wrap our adventure with a visit to the Grand Egyptian Museum, home to one of the most significant collections of ancient artifacts in the world, and have our final dinner together in a local’s home. This final stretch grounds the experience, allowing you to leave not just having seen Egypt, but having engaged with it in a more personal and meaningful way.

For those who are not ready to leave, this will also be the first Girls Trip Series experience offering a three-day extension to the Siwa Oasis, one of Egypt’s most remote and untouched destinations. Located near the Libyan border, Siwa is known for its natural springs, desert landscapes, and distinct cultural identity that feels completely different from the rest of the country. It offers a slower, more off-the-grid experience for those who want to continue the journey and see a side of Egypt that very few travellers reach.

Travel Style and Who This Trip Is For

This journey is designed as an overland-style adventure, meaning we’ll be moving across Egypt by car, train & boat - taking in the landscapes, culture, and rhythm of the country along the way.

We'll be covering a lot of ground during our 11 days together. Because of that, it's important to note that this trip is more structured than our other destinations. There are a lot more meals and activities included for the Egypt trip (vs other trips that we do), so you can make the most out of the experience. Having said all that, this is still your trip. So if anything feels like a "meh" for you when you wake up, listen to your body and hang back and rest, and take on something else of your liking. Just don't miss the van ;)

It's important to note that the women who choose to take this trip should be highly independent. Unlike other group travel experiences and retreats, these trips are designed to give you freedom to explore on your own terms. Women who come on this trip should be mellow, be able to go with the flow, and not depend on other people to make/break their experience. To ensure you're a good, energetic fit for the trip and that this is the right investment for you, all interested travellers must be approved through our trip application system.

Accommodations are comfortable mid-level hotels thoughtfully chosen to balance experience and value, so we can keep the trip accessible without compromising comfort! While this isn’t a "luxury" trip, it’s rich in heart, adventure, and connection ;). Please note that this journey includes 1 night on an overnight sleeper train.

You will be placed with another woman on the trip as your roomie. We match roommates based on your pre-trip questionnaire answers to team you up with someone we think you'd be most compatible with in terms of sleeping styles and personality. If you would like your own room, please add a single occupancy add-on at the time of booking.
