hi, i’m ally & this is the story of how the girls trip series came to be.
The Girls Trip Series was born from a simple belief: some of life’s most beautiful moments become infinitely more meaningful when we have someone to share them with.
I spent nearly a decade working in the travel industry before leaving to pursue a creative career. As a photographer and storyteller, I went on to work with some of the world’s most notable travel brands, including Four Seasons and Air Canada, helping them capture experiences and tell stories that inspired people to see more of the world. But my own desire to travel never left me. What changed was the way I wanted to experience it.
Solo travel had felt effortless when I was younger. Hostels, parties and spontaneous friendships made it easy to meet people. In my thirties, I still wanted the freedom and discovery of traveling independently, but I no longer wanted to experience the world in the same way. I wanted to stay somewhere beautiful, share an unforgettable meal, take the boat trip, and experience the once-in-a-lifetime moments, but I wanted to do those things with people.
At the same time, I realized something rarely acknowledged: not all friends are compatible for travel. Even when you do have the right friends, adulthood has a way of keeping the trip trapped in the group chat. Between careers, finances, relationships, marriages, children, and entirely different life stages, getting everyone to commit can feel almost impossible.
The idea for The Girls Trip Series arrived unexpectedly, after a breakup left me emotionally stranded in Portugal. Instead of abandoning the trip, I decided to change it. I stopped trying to follow the version of the journey I had originally imagined and began waking up each morning asking myself one question: What would feel good today?
I carved out time to play. I disconnected so I could reconnect with myself. I stopped filling every hour with commitments and finally gave myself space to breathe. When I shared that experience online, women began messaging me in a way they never had before. I had posted about travel for years, but what was it about this trip that resonated differently? I had stripped away the polished version and shared something honest. Women were not simply asking where I stayed or what I did. They were asking how they could experience what I had experienced. That was when I understood: they were craving it because I was craving it too.
The group travel industry has traditionally offered plenty of options for travelers between 18 and 30, as well as established tours for those over 60. But there was a generation of women in between who had largely been overlooked. Their choices were often limited to highly specific retreats, rigid tours, mixed group trips with little control over who they would be traveling with, or continuing to travel alone.
So I created the experience I could not find.
The Girls Trip Series offers small, thoughtfully curated adventures around the world for women who want connection but hate the idea of being stuck on a tour. Designed primarily for women in their thirties, forties and early fifties, our trips balance meaningful shared experiences with the freedom to slow down, wander, rest and follow what feels good. We use traveler application forms to help ensure each woman’s expectations, energy, and travel style align with the experience we provide. It is not a popularity contest, nor is it about creating a group of women who are all the same. It is about acknowledging that travel is a massive financial and emotional investment, and thoughtfully bringing together independent, adaptable travelers who are open to the world and to one another.
These are not vacations where women are simply moved from one attraction to the next. They are immersive experiences built around discovery, culture, adventure, play, and intentional downtime. They allow women to experience the world without waiting for someone else’s schedule, relationship status, or life circumstances to align with their own.
What has emerged is so much bigger than a travel company. The Girls Trip Series has become a place where women reconnect with themselves, rediscover parts of their identity that may have been buried beneath responsibility, and prove to themselves that they are still capable of doing brave, beautiful things. It is where strangers become lifelong friends, and women return home with more confidence, inspiration, and possibility than they left with. Many of our travelers arrive alone at first. Increasingly, they return for their third, fourth, and even fifth adventure with us. That loyalty is not simply a reflection of the destinations we visit. It is a reflection of how these experiences make women feel: welcomed, understood, energized, and fully alive.
The Girls Trip Series began with one woman giving herself permission to travel differently. Today, it gives women around the world permission to stop waiting, choose themselves, and experience extraordinary places alongside a community that makes every moment more meaningful. I’m not simply taking women around the world. I am creating the space for them to return to themselves.
I can’t wait to experience life with you,
